Where does Korea stand on assisted death?
[The Korea Herald Shin Ji-hye] (전략) The poll, conducted by Hankook Research on 1,000 adults in 2022, found that 82 percent of respondents supported the concept. The primary reason for their support was the right to self-determination at 25 percent, closely followed by the belief in one’s right to die with dignity at 23 percent. The third most significant factor, chosen by 20 percent of respondents, was the concern over the “pain and burden inflicted on the family.” And this is partly the reason why religious and medical communities are worried and oppose legalizing assisted death.
